Mr. Thornton has over 20 years of experience in the sourcing and structuring of debt and equity capital for commercial real estate investment and development across the US and abroad. His expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of capitalization strategies including debt and equity financing for ground-up construction, acquisitions, and portfolio recapitalizations of all major asset classes.
After spending the early part of his career in the real estate private equity space in Japan, Mr. Thornton returned to the US to work for a large international commercial real estate investment bank. He then went on to work for a real estate investment management and development firm prior to transitioning to the advisory side of the business in 2010.
Mr. Thornton takes a highly analytical, data-driven approach to crafting optimal capitalization strategies catered to his clients’ investment objectives.

Ms. Sayers brings over 18 years of experience with investors and small businesses in securing both debt and equity for the acquisition, development and refinancing of commercial real estate.
Starting out assisting small business owners with securing SBA financing, Nicole was a direct lender with regional banks specializing in commercial real estate financing. Since then, she transitioned into an advisory role on the Debt & Equity team with Colliers, leveraging her vast skills and wide-ranging industry relationships to source and craft optimal debt and equity capital for private and institutional clients. Creativity and the ability to overcome obstacles through the course of a transaction have been the key driver to her client’s success.

Mr. Gibson is a Senior Vice President at Colliers Debt & Equity. Mr. Gibson brings a wide array of commercial real estate experience, including advising clients on their capital stack to institutional investment sales. Before joining Colliers, Mr. Gibson was a Partner at Palmer Capital. He focused on investment sales, debt, and equity for institutional, middle market, and private clients transacting in the Western United States.
Before Palmer Capital, Mr. Gibson was a Captain in the United States Air Force. As a contracting officer, Mr. Gibson was responsible for managing multiple existing contract programs and leading source selections for Air Combat Command, Al Udeid Air Base, and Beale AFB, with a total value of more than $300M. Mr. Gibson holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business and obtained his bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy.

Ms. Smyle has 10+ years of experience in securing debt and equity for the acquisition, development, and refinance of commercial real estate across the US with over half a billion in successfully completed transactions in her career. Her expertise includes permanent financing as well as heavy execution bridge and construction debt across all major asset classes.
Before joining Colliers, Ms. Smyle originated bridge debt for family offices and debt funds nationwide, focusing largely on assisting sponsors with value-add transactions and expedited-close acquisitions inclusive of both traditional and specialty property types.
Having served as a debt and equity provider across both banking and debt fund platforms for a large part of her career in the commercial real estate industry, Ms. Smyle’s diverse lending background allows her to expertly navigate her clients through the Lender process to ensure their success. Previous companies include Axos Bank (formerly BofI), Columbia Pacific Advisors, and Baseline Partners.

Mr. McEnery is an accomplished senior executive who possesses over 20+ years’ experience of institutional experience in real estate capital markets, management consulting/business strategy, and real estate investment/operations. He possesses an acumen for bridging people together to solve complex business/capital strategy issues. Savvy in global institutional capital markets, investor relations and development strategies, he previously held positions at Booz Allen, USGBC, and the Greenwich Group. Most recently, he was the managing director of a CRE investor/operator, Marwood Company, supporting all aspects of the investment portfolio.
In the CRE capital markets, Mr. McEnery has sourced institutional equity and debt capital totaling over 3 billion in all asset classes throughout the U.S. He interacted with global institutional capital (debt & equity) groups to structure: joint ventures with developers/operators, structuring institutional debt into distressed recapitalizations situations, construction financing or bridge financing, entity-level or platform acquisition programs and refinancing solutions for Chapter 11/Bankruptcy proceedings.
